Privacy Policy for Crypto Price Checker

Crypto Price Checker ("the App") is provided by Benek Apps. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App, why, and how it is protected.
1. Personal Data
Crypto Price Checker does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number.
The App does not collect your contacts, precise location, photos, microphone recordings, or messages.
To deliver price alerts while the App is closed, the App uses a random device identifier and a push notification token, as described in section 3. These are not used to identify you personally.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The App stores certain settings locally on your device, including:
- selected cryptocurrencies;
- price alert settings and alarm status;
- refresh interval, theme, display currency and which tabs are shown;
- whether the app lock is turned on;
- the latest prices shown in the home screen widget;
- portfolio holdings you enter (coins, amounts and optional average buy prices);
- the random device identifier and device secret used to communicate with the backend (section 3).
This information is used only to provide the App's functionality. Portfolio amounts and buy prices never leave your device; to show current values, the App only requests prices for the coins in your portfolio, like for any other coin.
App lock. If you turn on the app lock, Android checks your fingerprint, face or screen lock (PIN, pattern or password). The App only receives the result (unlocked or not); it never receives or stores any biometric data.
3. Price Alerts and Data Stored on Our Servers
Price alerts are checked by the App's backend service, so they can work even when the App is closed. For this purpose the following data is stored on servers operated through Cloudflare (Cloudflare Workers and D1 database):
- Device identifier – a random identifier generated by the App on first use. It is not derived from your phone number, IMEI, advertising ID, or Google account.
- Device secret – a random value generated by the App, used to authenticate requests. Only a cryptographic hash of it is stored on the server.
- Push notification token – a Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) token that allows the backend to send alert notifications to your device.
- Alert settings – the cryptocurrency (CoinMarketCap ID and symbol), alert type, target price or percentage, reference price, alert mode (notification, vibration, sound), the currency of the target price, the repeat interval and the time the alert last fired, and whether the alert is enabled or has been triggered.
- Service records – plan (Free or Pro), timestamps such as when the device was registered or last connected, and records of alert notifications sent.
This data is used only to check your alerts against current market prices, to send you notifications, and to apply the limits of your plan. It is not used for advertising or profiling.
The App registers with the backend only after you create your first price alert or purchase Crypto Pro. When you delete an alert in the App, it is removed from the server. When you remove a cryptocurrency, its alerts are removed as well.
4. Network Requests
The App connects to its backend service to retrieve cryptocurrency market data and to synchronize price alerts.
Requests may contain cryptocurrency identifiers required to return the requested prices, and, for alert synchronization and Pro features (fresher prices and the full coin list), the device identifier and alert settings described in section 3. Portfolio amounts and buy prices are never included.
Cloudflare may process technical information associated with network requests, such as IP addresses, timestamps, request paths, and other network or security metadata, as part of providing and protecting the service.
This technical information is not used by the developer to identify users, create advertising profiles, or track users across applications.
5. Cryptocurrency Data
Cryptocurrency market data displayed by the App (prices, market cap, dominance and the Fear & Greed Index) is provided using data from CoinMarketCap.
Current prices of popular coins are also taken from the public market data of the Kraken exchange, which the backend downloads every minute. No personal data or device identifiers are sent to Kraken, and the App never contacts Kraken directly.
Prices in currencies other than US dollars are converted with daily reference rates of the European Central Bank, which the backend downloads from the free Frankfurter service. The App itself only contacts the App's backend for these rates; no personal data is sent to Frankfurter.
The App is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by CoinMarketCap. No personal data or device identifiers are sent to CoinMarketCap.
6. Notifications
The App may send notifications for:
- cryptocurrency price updates;
- price alerts configured by the user.
Price alert notifications are delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging, a Google service. Notification preferences are handled by the Android operating system. The App does not use notifications for advertising.
7. Subscriptions (Pro)
Crypto Pro is an optional subscription. If you purchase it, payment is processed entirely by Google Play. The developer does not receive your payment card details, name, or email address.
To activate Pro features, the App sends the Google Play purchase token to the backend, which verifies the purchase with Google. The backend stores the purchase token, the subscription status and its expiry date, and links them to your device identifier so that Pro features can be enabled on your devices.
Subscriptions are managed and cancelled in Google Play.
8. Third-Party Services
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides infrastructure used by the App's backend service, including hosting the alert database. Privacy information: Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
Google Firebase Cloud Messaging
Firebase Cloud Messaging is used to deliver price alert notifications. Google processes the push notification token and the notification content to deliver messages. Privacy information: Privacy and Security in Firebase.
Google Play In-App Review
The App may ask you to rate it using Google Play's in-app review dialog. The review is handled entirely by Google Play; the App does not see whether or how you rated it.
CoinMarketCap
CoinMarketCap provides cryptocurrency market data used by the App. Privacy information: CoinMarketCap Privacy Policy.
Google Play
If the App is installed through Google Play, Google may process information relating to downloads, installations, purchases, subscriptions, device compatibility, security, and other Play Store functionality according to Google's Privacy Policy.
9. Advertising and Tracking
Crypto Price Checker does not contain advertising.
The App does not use advertising identifiers and does not track users across apps or websites. The random device identifier described in section 3 is used only to operate price alerts.
The App does not use third-party analytics services.
10. Data Sharing
The developer does not sell users' data.
The developer does not share data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Data is processed only by the service providers listed in section 8 (Cloudflare and Google) as necessary to operate the App, deliver notifications, and process subscriptions.
11. Data Retention and Deletion
App preferences stored locally remain on your device until they are changed, cleared, or the App is uninstalled.
Delete my data: you can delete all data stored on the server at any time in the App under Settings → Delete my data. This immediately removes your device registration, push notification token, and all alerts from the server, and removes your alerts from the device.
Automatic deletion after uninstalling: while the App is installed, it contacts the backend periodically. If a device stops contacting the backend, all data associated with it (device registration, push notification token, alerts, and notification records) is deleted automatically within 30 days, or within 7 days if the push notification service reports that the App is no longer installed.
Records of an active Pro subscription may be kept for as long as needed to provide the subscription and to meet legal or accounting obligations.
Backend infrastructure may temporarily retain technical logs for operational, security, abuse-prevention, and troubleshooting purposes, only for as long as reasonably necessary.

12. Data Security
Network communication between the App and its backend uses HTTPS.
Device secrets are stored on the server only as cryptographic hashes. Requests that change alerts must be authenticated with the device secret.
The cryptocurrency API credentials and push notification service credentials used by the backend are stored on the server and are not included in the Android application.
Reasonable technical measures are used to protect the backend from unauthorized access and abuse.
13. Children's Privacy
Crypto Price Checker is not specifically directed toward children.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14. Financial Disclaimer and Limitation of Liability
Crypto Price Checker provides cryptocurrency price information and alerts for informational purposes only.
The App does not provide financial, investment, trading, or tax advice, and does not provide cryptocurrency trading, wallet, custody, or exchange services.
The developer makes reasonable efforts to provide accurate and timely information, but does not guarantee that cryptocurrency prices, alerts, notifications, or other information displayed by the App will always be accurate, complete, current, uninterrupted, or error-free. Prices may be delayed, unavailable, or differ from prices shown by exchanges or other market data providers. Alert notifications depend on third-party services (including Google Play services and Firebase Cloud Messaging) and on your device settings, and may be delayed or not delivered.
The App should not be relied upon as the sole basis for financial, investment, trading, tax, or other financial decisions.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer is not liable for losses or damages resulting from reliance on price data, delayed or missed notifications, temporary service interruptions, network failures, third-party service outages, or other technical issues related to the use of the App.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy or disclaimer excludes or limits any rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable law.
15. Changes and Contact
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the App or its services change. The date at the top of this page will be updated when significant changes are made.
